This holiday season I have been struggling to ‘feel it’. With travelling, weather changes, and overall transitions – Christmas hasn’t held its stereotypical cheeriness – but circumstances do not change the goodness of the Christmas message. In fact, it has reminded me of the unglamorous beginnings of my Saviour. Traversing from Nazareth to Bethlehem, His parents were away from comfort and familiarities. Yet there, the best thing happened. Their chaos and confusion gave clear to simplicity and gratefulness.

This year we had a wee concert for the grandies. Practicing and working through each piece with my cousins was such a wholesome experience that I will cherish forever. Singing isn’t my forte but giving my best as an offering for the Lord is all He asks. The song “In the Garden” highlighted the beautiful intimacy of personal relationship with Jesus – our Emmanuel – God with us. Taking time alone to rest in Him and observe the ways He has orchestrated Creation brings peace. I come to the garden alone, while the dew is still on the roses. And the voice I hear falling on my ear, the Son of God discloses. And He walks with me, and He talks with me, and He tells me I am His own. And the joy we share as we tarry there, none other than ever known. He speaks and the sound of His voice, is so sweet the birds hush their singing. And the melody that He gave to me, within my heart is ringing.’

WISHING EVERYONE A TIME OF CLOSENESS TO OUR HUMBLE KING AND REDEEMING MESSIAH ! HOPING YOU EXPERIENCE HIS JOY AND PEACE IN WHATEVER CIRCUMSTANCES YOU FIND FOR THIS NEW YEAR!
